Do you have an elderly parent or know of an elderly individual who is becoming less capable of doing household tasks, such as vacuuming and grocery shopping, but could remain in their own home if they had a little help? Do you live too far from them or are physically limited in the ways that you can help? The Chore Program may help prevent premature institutionalization. It assists low income seniors, and younger, disabled adults with light household chores. This two-hour service is provided two to four times a month by a Chore Home Assistant. Chore Home Assistant Seniors and younger disabled persons living alone in Morris County who are unable to maintain their households due to either temporary or permanent physical problems are eligible for Chore services. For most Chore clients, there is no fee. For eligible clients with incomes above the New Jersey PAAD guidelines, a fee of $5 per service is applied. Application Information
