Hurricane Disaster Response
Flood Assistance Available Morris County Hope House:
Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Paterson has initiated a Disaster Response Program for residents of Morris, Sussex and Passaic Counties impacted by flooding in recent weeks. In addition to support from the Faith Communities, Catholic Charities has received funding from the NJ Division of Mental Health through the Federal Emergency Management Agency for crisis counseling services for people affected by Hurricane Irene who reside in Morris and Passaic Counties.
All counseling and information/referral assistance services are free of charge.
Services available include direct support, information on resources available to individuals and families as well as individual support and group sessions lead by trained crisis counselors about "disaster stress" and coping skills; and organizing interventions and help for civic groups, faith-based groups, schools, senior centers and other community organizations.
